After being officially selected and participating in the 6th International Dance Film Festival, Videodanza Palma 2018 on Palma de Mallorca, my movie and dance documentary "Dancers Photo Shooting" is continuing its tour. It has also been selected by the jury of the International Dance Film Festival - Danse en Film Bordeaux 2018, to participate in its second year, and will be screened on Saturday December 8, 2018 at the Independent Movie Theater "Cinéma Utopia" in Bordeaux, France. A special thanks to the directors and founders of the festival - Marielle Morales and Alain Gonotey - and all other members involved for your warm hospitality, professionalism, your open minds to offer 11 worldwide movies very diverse in regards to style and content in the “new” genre of Dance films, which created a well-rounded festival.
This II. International Dance Film Festival - Danse en Film Bordeaux 2018 began with two historical films from Wolfgang Kolb - “Muurwerk” from 1987 and “Hoppla!” from 1989. The next day, the official selection of the festival was presented at the Movie Theater "Cinéma Utopia," followed by a very interesting Q&A and debate between the audience and the some of the movie directors. Each director presented their work with an explanation of the difference between making a dance film and recording a staged set choreography, dance film vs. a film containing dance.
I would like to suggest and invite the French press and TV channels to attend this international cultural event and have a closer look at the III. International Dance Film Festival - Danse en Film Bordeaux 2019, which I’m sure will surprise us again with all new talents and give the opportunity to see a different perspective on how dance films are done by national and international film makers. Congratulations to all the movie directors of the festival, I was very impressed! Wishing you all, a load of success and creativity, and wishing that our paths will cross again soon!!!
